Born in Amsterdam in 1964, Debbie Crane moved to Jersey with her family as a young child, since then the Island has been her home.
Life and art are intertwined for Crane whose family, friends, and everyday local life appear in her work. Debbie Crane has a natural ability in drawing and painting.
Her approach is experimental, much like the children she teaches, making pictures in the moment and with a freedom to delve into the possibilities of colour and texture. What transpires is an authenticity that feels both direct and joyful.
Winner of the Jersey Summer Exhibition 2022, for her painting Greve, Open Hands will be Debbie Crane’s first solo show with CCA Galleries International.
