CCA Galleries International is delighted to announce the launch of a show dedicated to Storm Thorgersons’ iconic album cover art works. The exhibition runs from Friday 8th until Saturday 23rd November 2013, with a special private view on Thursday 7th November.
This unique exhibition will showcase beautiful fine art silkscreen prints of some the most famous album covers in rock music history. On display will be Storm Thorgerson’s back catalogue and also some of the memorable props used for past and present album covers.
Chairman of CCA Galleries International, Lance Trevellyan says; “We are excited about showcasing this exhibition for the first time in Jersey as the work on display spans the length and breadth of Storm’s Career from Hipgnosis to StormStudios and all points in between. It promises to be a vibrant show and we hope a fitting memorial to such a wonderful artist.”
There will also be the opportunity to purchase Storm Thorgerson's brand new book 'The Gathering Storm - The Album Art of Storm Thorgerson'. The book features 256 full colour pages of album cover graphics - covering five decades from his beginnings with ‘Hipgnosis’ right through to ‘StormStudios’.”
Storm Thorgerson (1944 - 2013) designed classic album art for a host of rock greats for over 40 years, including Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Cranberries, Muse, Black Sabbath, 10cc, Genesis and Biffy Clyro to name a few.
