'U for Unusual People' - A signed, limited edition silkscreen print by Sir Peter Blake.

'U
for Unusual People' is from Blake's 1991 series of alphabet letters,
echoing the artist's interest in collecting antique postcards and
photographs. The images within the print are brought together by the
theme of unusual people: performers, circus acts, siamese twins, people
with rare physical deformities all feature. The piece reflects Blake's
fascination wth outsiders and misfits and takes us back to the
politically incorrect era when it was considered acceptable to parade
around unusual looking people as objects of repugnant curiosity. As
Marco Livingstone comments, in Blake's collection of postcards 'It is
not revulsion that comes across but affection and acceptance, even a
sense of identification with the imperfections of his fellow man. As
always with Blake it is a deeply felt humity that triumphs.'
