Born Miranda Fox-Pitt in 1968, in Perth Scotland, Miranda Moncreiffe is an artist based between Scotland and Jersey. Raised in Scotland within a family of artists, her mother is a fellow of the Royal Society of Scottish Sculptors and her sister, husband, and children are also artists. The youngest of three children, Miranda followed the family tradition and went to study art at Edinburgh College of Art in 1987. Moving to London with a young family, she enrolled with the Inner London Education Authority (ILEA) to study experimental printmaking. She has exhibited in Scotland, London, and Jersey. Her work has featured at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh as well as the Cyril Gerber Fine Art Gallery in Glasgow.

Dancing with Light will be Miranda Moncreiffe’s second show with CCA Galleries International. This exhibition spans a 12-year period from 2012 when she first moved into her studio in St. Helier until today. This period also reflects a time of travel; Morocco, South of France, Maldives, Mustique, Spain, Venice, Italy, Barbados and Scotland. The works selected for the exhibition form a personal journey and reflect the places visited by the artist, in each place Moncreiffe is captivated by the light; from the dark purple shadows of Scotland to the intense midday sun of Morocco.
